Our Story
The origins of stone and tile setting in the Bottema family extend back four generations and more than 120 years to 1902 when Charles Bottema settled in Pasadena, California as a masonry contractor. Al Bottema, the 3rd generation tile setter, moved the business to Southern Utah in late 1970s and Paul Bottema, the company’s 4th generation tile setter and current president, took over when is father retired in the 1980s. Since then the business has grown and evolved to take on larger and iteratively more complex projects.

Paul Bottema
President
Paul has been involved in the family tile and stone trades since his early youth. He has been the president of Bottema Tile since the mid-1980s
Cody Alderson
Director of Operations
Cody has an MBA from Southern Utah University and, after a 13-year career in contracts and procurement with Boeing, joined Bottema Tile in early 2024
Taylor Bottema
Director of Engineering
Taylor graduated from the University of Utah with a degee in Civil Engineering, after working as a project manager for Geneva he joined Bottema Tile in 2023.
